To all the spiritually homeless, the theologically curious, and the faithfully feral - Welcome!

What is Almost Church?

Almost Church is a spiritual halfway house for people who’ve outgrown rigid religion but still crave wonder, presence, and a thread of something sacred. It’s where we gather around stories instead of dogma, questions instead of creeds, and contemplative practices instead of performative faith.

Here’s what you’ll find here:

  • Personal stories of reimagining God and learning to stay with the mystery (without needing to solve it).

  • Weekly guided meditations / prayers / sits to help you practice presence in a real, gritty, coffee-breath kind of way.

  • Occasional invitations to live storytelling events in Austin, Texas - where real people tell true stories about doubt, grace, grief, and all the gloriously awkward places in between.

  • A community of big-hearted, curious humans exploring new ways to relate to the Divine, to each other, and to their own lives - with creativity, honesty, and a stubborn kind of hope.

We’re not trying to build a new religion here. Just a more honest one. One where laughter is holy, swearing is allowed, and sitting in silence counts as participation.

If you’re looking for a space that’s tender with your longing, generous with your questions, and gentle with your becoming -
